He may be 55, but age has not waned his desire to give his all to cinema. Made in Telugu as Sagar Sangamam, the movie directed by K. Viswananth and starring Jayapradha was a huge hit. The classical dance theme of the movie and Kamal’s portrayal (as a dancer who sacrifices his life for the art) won him accolades. The movie, when dubbed in Tamil as Silangai Oli, repeated the same success as in Telugu.

Vishal and Selva join hands?

The popular question being asked in the industry is – “After the colossal failure of Sathyam, what will be Puratchithalapathy Vishal’s next film?

“Vishal had written in his blog that his next film will be Thorannai, to be directed by debutant Ayappan (?).

But the buzz in trade circles is that Vishal has signed his next film with ace director Selvaraghavan, to be produced by leading financier and producer Ramesh Babu of Kanakaratna Films who produced the blockbuster Pokkiri. Ramesh is now producing Telugu Puli with superstar Pawan Kalyan, which is being directed by our S.J Suryah.

It seems during the auspicious Diwali weekend, the deal was firmed up bringing together two of the most temperamental people in the industry together.

Ramesh was one of the principal financiers of Sathyam, and it looks like Vishal is giving him priority dates to settle his financial commitments.

Selva had signed up with the producer more than two years back, first to start a Surya film which later became a Vikram project and now it looks like, it has become a Vishal film!

The film is likely to start rolling from January first week in Chennai, by then Selva is expected to have completed the shoot of his action adventure Aayirathil Oruvan.

Selva is likely to script his film to suit the action image of Vishal. However industry watchers are expecting fireworks between Vishal and Selva, as both are egoistic and wants to play captain of the ship.
